Mō te tūnga | About the role
An opportunity has arisen within our dedicated Ministerial Support team. This team provides services to the whole organisation with the aim of ensuring consistency and effectiveness of official correspondence and reporting across the business. You will be key in the management of correspondence from members of the public to Oranga Tamariki and the Minister. A typical day could include managing, processing and drafting responses to Official Information Act (OIA) requests; and drafting responses to ministerial correspondence and written Parliamentary Questions (PQs).

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
You will be an energetic high performer with the ability to work well under pressure, and to tight timeframes when needed while maintaining a consistent high level of written and verbal communication skills, including ability to write documents that are clear and succinct.
Experience in New Zealand's public sector, Knowledge of the machinery of government and an understanding of the Official Information Act will be essential to your success.
Responsiveness to Te Ao Māori, tikanga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi will be at the front of mind in all your work as will an understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural issues and concerns including Pacific peoples' culture.

Oranga Tamariki offer an impartial remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure. Annual remuneration for this position starts between $73,192.00 and $83,574.00 dependant on experience, with annual tenure-based progression steps available above this range.
