We are looking to hire a key member of our Pine Chemical, New Product Development and Scale-up team at our Kraton Innovation Center in Almere, The Netherlands. The scientist will primarily focus on new product development opportunities supporting Kraton’s growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead / support R&D initiatives in area of new product development
- Provide direction and support to research projects.
- Work closely with internal/external customers and establish strong relationships to drive innovation projects.
- Effectively engage and maintain good relationships between the R&D, engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Contribute to defining and executing new product development initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong chemistry background
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively facilitate, lead, and organize technical projects.
- Ability to design and conduct laboratory experiments.
- Ability to work with customers at all levels, internally and externally, to define and drive projects, including the ability to discuss in detail the scientific basis of an experimental approach.
- Must be adaptable, curious, collaborative and a self-starter.
- Ability to document and communicate work clearly.
- Ability to execute and provide technical direction to new product development projects.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Ability to coach / mentor co-workers.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
- BSc in chemistry with +6 years of industrial experience
- MSc / PhD with +3 years of industrial experience.
